The Art of Living

by Lumiere, May-30th , 2018

“ We only invented the word organic because we made things inorganic. We only invented the word natural because we made things unnatural. We only invented the word permaculture because we made agriculture.” ? Khang Kijarro Nguyen

Meaning of ORGANIC: relating to or derived from living matter. "organic soils" synonyms: living, live, animate, biological, natural; Technical biotic "organic matter"

2.(of food or farming methods) produced or involving production without the use of chemical fertilizers, pesticides, or other artificial chemicals. "organic farming”

MEANING OF PERMACULTURE is a system of agricultural and social design principles centered around simulating or directly utilizing the patterns and features observed in natural ecosystems.

MEANING OF NATURAL ?nat?(?)r(?)l/ adjective

1. Existing in or derived from nature; not made or caused by humankind. "carrots contain a natural antiseptic"

2. In accordance with the nature of, or circumstances surrounding, someone or something. "sharks have no natural enemies" When in doubt it makes simple sense to just look up the dictionary. And this what is found. Read carefully please.

Everyone of these words… Don't they make perfect sense because they seem to be exactly in tune with what we ourselves are, as living forms, living beings ?

Now look at their Antonyms or Opposites also included in this quote.

When you look at it this way ,how can the words ‘Inorganic, Unnatural, and Agriculture (as opposed to the more specialised and enlightened term Permaculture) even arise in relation with the most primary things that sustain Life, that is Food and Self Care ?

The author of this quote is certainly no household name here. And honest to God, I've not really heard of this artist before I chanced upon this quote .

And frankly I just may not in the future either given the chores I handle day to day in my universe that spins around farms and composting and chickens and recipes and what not !

That doesn't matter really, I guess.

What really matters is just this - Often it takes the Artist, the Poet and the so called Madmen to state the obvious and jolt us into Remembering that Forgetting which can cause us to simply lose all touch with Living Life, with what really matters in this unique Gift.

It is for this reason that we at Lumiere aspire in our own way to be small little artists in all the little things we attempt doing/innovating in our Farms & of course, our Hearth.

All artists need understanding & loyal Patrons to keep bettering themselves.

We thank you for being ours!
